The web development journey

The first month of launching my modern website it was on the domain onlinecollection.org which I had bought years ago and used for a variety of purposes- a cooking blog, a student teacher blog, a place to store things on the cloud, to experiment, make websites for my students…

The first month I made my modern personal website, This past March, I was wowed with the results – over 1000 visits. COULD NOT BELIEVE IT

And then!
Someone challenged me to make it look even better. I changed the look and feel by choosing a different theme I liked.
Someone suggested I move to SSL
Good call
I finally once and for all moved it to jamiebwalzer dot com

All of my other organic traffic that had been gathering over many many years from my poems and other websites was no longer a part of feeding my new website, hosted at this new secure domain. The search engines would need to get used to this new url.

And you know what?

In the month of May the number of visits went back to over a thousand already. I’m so proud – who are these visits from? I love knowing that my words are impacting people. I’d love to hear the feedback of the key takeaways. I’d love to get to know these people. I’m just amazed.

The world sure is a big place, yet at the same time it’s a small world. Thank you for visiting my website!
